Sapphosophy - CRETE HOUSE
This House is called Potami, it is set in the mountain, a short distance off the village road in the Lastithi District. It is one hours drive from Heraklion Airport, and ten minutes drive to a small rural town Neaplolis and beech town Elounda.
A short walk through the olive groves will take you to a charming Cretan Village, Forni, complete with two authentic cafes that serve the famous Cretan alcoholic beverage Raki, and local wines, always served with food! Walking in the area is 'free-to-roam' with goat paths and old walled donkey paths to follow. There are many lively beeches, one complete with a Minoan style Hotel 'Blue Palace' for cocktails and Spa, others with windsurfing, local bars and restaurants. Self Contained
A huge beautifully located Self Contained house This House is 130 sqaure meters. Sleeps six. Two double bed rooms, one with a spare single bed. There is a spare bed down stairs in the vast living area. Each double bed room opens out onto it's own terrace. One roof terrace at the front of the house, and one garden patio at the back of the house, so there is lot's of privacy for all.
Mirabello, in the Lastithi District Is the area of fine tasting gourmet olive oil, absolutely delicious. This is on sale from the House Keeper. Remember that liquids are no longer allowed in 'hand' luggage but secure containers can be put in to 'hold' luggage. |

Two Double Rooms
Each double bed room opens out onto it's own space. One opens onto the roof terrace at the front of the house, and one opens onto the garden patio at the back of the house, so there is lot's of privacy for all. |

View from the house
Views from the back of house are breathtaking, gentle sweeping hills with rich pungent smells of Thyme and Oregano with it's crazing sheep and goats that look longingly through the fence into the tasty gardens, they are most definitely banned and the gate must stay closed at all times day and night!! |

View from roof terrace
An expansive roof terrace leads off from both of the double bedrooms. The beautiful location offers fantastic views of the ever changing mountain landscape and wonderfull sun-sets are all features of the Cretan house.roof terrace. Keen bird watchers will be in heaven from this bird 'hide', so don't forget to take your binoculars. |

Garden and scenery
A vast private garden full of typically Cretan wild flowers and lichen covered rock formations. Wild and gorgeous Crete is famous for it's staggering amounts of wild flowers, rare and indigenous to Crete. Twenty minutes drive from the house are plenty of small gorges packed with wild flowers and birds for the keen naturalist to explore. |
